My main interests are films and photography. It's my goal to have a career involving one of those, but deciding which one is the problem. Ever since first viewing it in 2004, Kill Bill Vol. 1 has been my #1 favorite movie. It's very different than my other tastes, which include the directorial work by David Lynch, Quentin Tarantino, and Alfred Hitchcock (the love has just started developing in the past year or so) and films such as Freaks, Delicatessen, Oldboy, and tons more. I try to see movies in theatres as much as possible, especially limited releases (I've been lucky enough to see Diary of the Dead, Funny Games (US), The Wrestler, and Milk). I didn't have an interest in taking serious photographs until late 2007 and film until early 2008. I have an interest in junky film cameras (panorama, polaroid) from thrift stores, "lomo" cameras, digital cameras (nothing fancy, yet) and film SLRs. Photographers I really like are Joel-Peter Witkin, Man Ray, Brad Miller, Gottfried Helnwein, Eugenio Recuenco, Dean Karr, and Helmut Newton.
I really love music and my taste is very diverse. My three favorite bands are Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails and Rob Zombie. I've seen all of them live atleast once, but hope to see them more. I also really like System of a Down, Goldfrapp, Buckethead, White Zombie, Bauhaus, Peaches, Rammstein, Björk, etc. I download too much, but never get around to listening to most of it. Lately, I've been trying to not download anything and just enjoy what I have.
Shopping. I do too much of it. I buy everything from little knick knacks from thrift stores to clothes on sale at Express. My room has transformed into a museum. I used to collect merchandise and memorabilia of Marilyn Manson, but not so much anymore as I'm saving up for a new computer. Then again, I just collect everything. Dead bugs, vinyl, old newspapers and magazines, you name it.
I've been doing arts and crafts all my life. Unfortunately, I start many things without ever finishing them. I really like making jewelry but I never end up wearing it and I like them too much to sell. Every year, I take art classes and excel at them, but in the end, I'm never happy with my work. One of these days, I want to make something I really like and feel proud of. I do have a love and appreciation for others' work though, such as Salvador Dali, Man Ray, David Lynch, Sylvia Ji, Gottfried Helnwein and Marilyn Manson.
More things I have an interest in, but have no desire to elaborate on are: human abnormalities, sideshow attractions, murder, serial killers, web design, graphic design, makeup, architecture, symbolism, science, fashion, magazines, tattoos, etc.
